Honhart Mid-Nite Black Co. began business in 1945 as a Division of Atlas Welding Accessories, Inc. in Ferndale, Michigan. We initially concentrated on Black Oxidizing firearms and the hand tools manufactured by Atlas. Management soon realized that there was a broader market for Black Oxide finishing in Southeast Michigan and began offering this service to the general metal working industry.

Honhart Mid-Nite Black Co. was incorporated in 1957. In 1961 the company moved to its current location in Troy, Michigan. This larger facility allowed the company to install extra large processing tanks that increased productivity and decreased turnaround time. We also installed a processing line to Black Oxidize Stainless Steel, a process unique to the company.

Honhart Mid-Nite Black Co. engages exclusively in Black Oxide metal finishing. Consequently, quality of finish, service, prompt delivery and competitive pricing are paramount. We serve a wide variety of customers who manufacture fasteners, stampings, forgings, cutting tools, machine tools, jigs, gauges, fixtures and other products too numerous to name.
